A Case of Huge Spontaneous Diaphragmatic Hernia

Abstract
A case of spontaneous rupture of the left diaphragm is presented with a brief review of literature. The female patient, 67 years old, admitted to our hospital with the chief complaints of epigastric pain and burning sensation in the upper chest. She has not been any traumatic history and physical efforts prior to admission. The nature of the pain was dull and radiated to the left back side. Physical findings on admission were within normal limit except diminished breathing sound and dullness by percussion in the lower part of the left anterior chest. The routine laboratory examination revealed unremarkable abnormality. The x-ray film of the chest and upper gastrointestinal series showed displacement of fundus, body of the stomach in the left lower two third of the chest. The patient was performed surgical procedure and recovered perfectly.
